• Signing up for Free Members Account
  
  Signing up is free and easy. On the left of the screen below the navigation buttons is a darker square with a form for members to login and a link to the Sign Up form. You will need to fill out the form providing a valid email address and user name in addition to answering some basic questions about who and where you are.
  
  Shortly after you have submitted the form an email will be sent to the address you provided with a temporary password and details on how to login. Once you have used the temporary password to login to the site you can edit your Member Profile and change your password.

  • BB Code Formatting 
    Due to security issues we de not let users post raw HTML code in the forums. However, in the body section of a message board post, you can use BB Code to add HTML formatting to your message. This syntax is similar to HTML and allows you to add features of common formatting to your text. Below is an example of the attributes available at this time:

• Users and Privileges
  Visitors to the Monteverde Community Web fall under three groups of users with distinct privileges. They are public users, members and contributors. 
  
  Public users are able to view the contents of the entire site and are not required to provide any login or personal information. 
  
  Members are those who have opened a free members account. Having a members account allows you to submit posts to the non-public message boards and requires providing a valid E-mail address and optional demographic and identifying details. 
  
  Contributors are members granted extended privileges allowing them to post items to the news articles sections as well as the events calendar. This group is reserved for those representing legitimate organizations, or individuals that have requested this status and agreed to the guidelines required for the posting of content on the site.

Extended Formatting for Contributors in News Article items:

For those submitting stories for our News section these extra formatting attributes are available for including images and hyperlinks in the body section. This will not work in titles or subject sections. Formatting may not appear correctly when articles are viewed in XML format through the RSS feed.
