Monteverde to Samara Beach Including a Turtle Watching Tour!
There are two turtle tours, so we will pick the best one for the time of year.
At Camaronal Beach, four of the seven species of sea turtles in the world can be found nesting at different times. These endangered species include the Leatherback, Olive Ridley (most common) and Hawksbill Black. The turtles arrive in much smaller numbers than the tour below in Ostinal.
Tour Time: is in the evening at 7.00pm.
Recommended to bring: walking shoes, dark clothes and repellent.

The second option is at Ostional Beach. The tour is only available just before and during an ARRIBADA (which is the name given to the 'arrival time' of the turtle to the beach) .
Close to to the last quarter of the moon cycle, the "arribada" will begin. At first, a few hundred turtles will arrive on the beach, followed by a steady stream over the next three days. Arribadas" occur throughout the year, at least once a month. The best months to see the turtles are between June and December (during these months, the rainy season, is when the largest 'arribadas' occur of thousands of turtles).
Tour time will depend on when the turtles are spotted - during the day or only at night.
