Hotel El Bosque (Forest Hotel in English) is a good mid-range option for those who want to be near the Monteverde Cloud Forests. The hotel has comfortable cabins suitable for couples or families and the hotel has very good prices for student groups.

El Bosque has well-maintained grounds which support many varieties of Costa Rica's lovely flowers. Verbena bushes, gardens of impatiens, rhododendrons and many species of butterflies and hummingbirds make for an enjoyable mid-day stroll.

The hotel has 28 rooms each able to sleep at least four people. Large standard rooms have either:

• 2 double beds and 2 single beds
• 2 double bed
• 1 double bed and 2 single beds.

Each room has private bathroom, coffee maker, hot water, telephone, and some offer televisions.

El Bosque has one of the longest hiking trails of any hotel in the area. The 2 km trail through beautiful terrain can take up to an hour to hike at a leisurely pace.  Adjacent to Hotel El Bosque is a very elegant Italian restaurant named Tramonti. The restaurant is under separate ownership but is a must visit if you are staying here. Called a pizzeria, the pasta, seafood and meats are all excellent and good red wine can be enjoyed in a romantic candlelit atmosphere.
