Hotel Montana Monteverde was the first high-end hotel opened in Monteverde and is now considered a comfortable mid-range hotel. Built in 1978 by a Quaker couple from New York, the hotel created quite a stir when it became the first to offer alcohol in this remote Quaker village. Since then, the hotel has changed owners and undergone several facelifts and expansions. The hotel is popular with tour groups as well as individuals and the renewal of these group contracts is evidence that the hotel is maintaining its excellent customer service.
Hotel Montana Monteverde is located on a large property (15 hectares) and includes hiking trails, gardens and a small lake. The main building includes a restaurant, bar and reading room with large windows to enjoy the view. If it is a clear day this is a good place to watch the sunset.
There is small 'spa' on site which consists of a small hot tub jacuzzi with great views and a sauna - a nice place to relax after a long day of hiking, horseback riding or even just to recuperate after the bumpy ride up the mountain.
ROOMS
Hotel Montana Monteverde has two main types of rooms: standard and deluxe. These vary from rustic cabin style to ultra modern. The more upscale rooms have large Jacuzzi style bathtubs, private balconies with breathtaking views as well as hairdryers, mini-fridges and televisions.
